To request a new Before You Dig Partners ticket, log in and tap the New Ticket () button found at the top of the Console screen dashboard:
Next, fill out the details of the work that you are doing. There are grey help ? icons throughout the website where you can read tips to help you enter your information:
Tapping each field will open a drop down menu. Once visible, tap on an option to select it:
Once the Ticket Details are filled out, tap the Next button. You will then be taken to the Dig site location screen:
Here you need to search for your dig site location. You can search via Street address, Intersection, Legal Land Description, or GPS-Coordinates.
Alternatively, you can use the GPS locator on your phone to identify your immediate location by tapping the Use Current Location () button above the Search Type dropdown.
Note: If you use your phone's GPS locator, you be need to authorize its use by the website:
After tapping the Use Current Location button, or completing one of the other Search Types, a map of the location will load. Use the drawing tool in the top-right corner of the map to designate your work area.
Once your work area has been finalized and you've tapped the Next button, the location information entered during the Dig site location search step will automatically be pulled into the Confirm dig site step. Please verify this is your actual work location, as this information is determined by Google Maps and is not always accurate. If you searched for a Reference point instead of the address/location itself, ensure the information is changed to reflect your actual work location.
Once you have found your location, drawn the area on the map, and confirmed the address or intersection, tap Next to access the Remarks section. Here you can enter any additional information that could not be included earlier. A description of the work area should also be provided to assist utility owners and/or their locators in finding the work area.
After reading and checking the disclaimer boxes included below the remarks section, tap the Submit button to submit your request.
This will send the information to all utilities registered with our service in the area, who will then respond directly to you with information about their underground facilities. For further information please see our What happens after submitting a Before You Dig Partners ticket? article.
